Theresa Salus: Outdoor Program & Outreach Manager – Chicago Market, REI Co-Op

About Theresa: Responsible for driving participation and program growth for REI Outdoor School, managing and training instructional and outreach staff, leading corporate initiatives at a market level, main point of contact for Chicago community engagement, outdoor program risk management, land agencies, and retail management.

Mission: ContextMedia:Health is a mission-driven patient education company – founded in 2006 and based in Chicago – that partners with healthcare professionals to educate patients on how to manage their condition through lifestyle changes.
Conscious Commitment: The founders of the company were inspired by their personal experiences as caregivers to family members living with diabetes and decided to partner with healthcare professionals to turn patient wait-time into an educational opportunity by bringing engaging videos on lifestyle information to the practice waiting-room. ContextMedia:Health is independently owned and operated without influence from pharmaceutical or insurance companies. This independence ensures that we provide our member practices with programming that is unbiased, accurate and relevant for their patients.

About Sarah: Sarah has been working as a Member Solutions Executive at ContextMedia Health now for almost a year. Her role requires her to be involved in every aspect of our business: sponsorship, media, technology, and membership growth and satisfaction. Sarah is responsible for owning 550-600 relationships with members that are either private practices or practices affiliated with a hospital or health system. As a high growth company, Sarah has to remain flexible and open minded to changes while also having the freedom to suggest scalable processes to improve efficiency. She is held to a number of key performance indicators (metrics) based on up-selling/fully integrating our newest patient education devices, leveraging my relationships, completed activities, and percentage of members she has talked to in the past 6 months.
Brady Gott: Managing Director, Cleanslate Chicago
Mission: Cleanslate, a social enterprise of Cara, provides paid transitional jobs in exterior maintenance which have a dual purpose – invigorating our communities and providing the platform to help individuals build the skills to secure lasting careers.
Conscious Commitment: In addition to helping individuals secure transitional employment and valuable job skills so they may reenter the workforce, Cleanslate also serves as a catalyst for true community renewal in many Chicago neighborhoods. Cleanslate contributes directly to each community’s revitalization strategy by concentrating its neighborhood beautification efforts along high-traffic corridors, and by establishing itself as a neighborhood presence that helps to restore community pride.
About Brady: Brady oversees Cleanslate Chicago, a social enterprise that creates more than 250 jobs annually for Chicagoans affected by homelessness and poverty. For nine years, Brady has overseen business operations, personnel management, budgeting, quality control, and business expansion consistent with the strategic plan of Cara, Cleanslate’s parent nonprofit. Brady earned a BA in Urban Ministry from Moody Bible Institute and an MBA at the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business. Brady is a 2016 Fellow at the University of Chicago’s Civic Leadership Academy.
Jimmy Lee: President/CEO, Goodcity
Mission: The mission of Goodcity is to identify and then support high potential community-based entrepreneurs whose goals are to create or enhance neighborhood and faith-based programs that promote self-sufficiency, hope and a sense of purpose in the lives of individuals in under-resourced communities in Chicago.

About Jimmy: Jimmy has vast experience in government and nonprofit sectors both locally and globally. In 2009, he was named one of Crain’s 40 Under 40 following his bid for the United States Congress in the 11th Congressional District of Illinois. Along with many other recognitions and accolades, Jimmy brings his energetic personality and creative approach to ensure that Goodcity is on the forefront of innovation when it comes to developing businesses throughout Chicago.

About Therese: Therese is a renown intuitive, business consultant and energy healer. She has served as adjunct faculty in the Master’s program in OD/HR at the University of San Francisco and Instructor on leadership, strategy and transformation at the University of Chicago’s Booth School LEAD Institute and The Graham School as well as at Northwestern University School of Continuing Studies.
