Move beyond hot paprika as you travel to Hungary to learn the wonders of Magyar cuisine in this hands-on class. Hungarian cuisine is defined by its wonderfully spiced meats, stews, vegetables, fresh bread and cheese. In addition to the staple paprika spice, the cuisine also sees plenty of caraway, coriander, cinnamon, dill, horseradish, lemon, and marjoram.

Students will make these favorite dishes:

  • Körözött Stuffed Peppers (spicy Liptauer cheese in mild peppers)
  • Chestnut Soup (thickened with root vegetables)
  • Székely Goulash (traditional pork stew with sauerkraut & sour cream) with Yeast Dumplings
  • Apple-filled Palacsinta with Tokaji Sauce (Hungarian crêpes with sweet wine)

Learn how to build a festive family meal for these long winter nights.
