About Us

Since 2006, Green Exchange has emerged as a center for innovation in the green economy and served as a living showcase for green design and practices. The campus is a demonstration of green business ideas put to the test, proving practical solutions for advancing the green economy exist. By housing an opportune mix of green-minded businesses under one roof, Green Exchange has succeeded in developing a synergistic community and superior working environment for tenants and their employees.

A Leading Example of Sustainable Development

A LEED Platinum certified redevelopment project, the Green Exchange is a true model of urban sustainability and adaptive reuse. Once an empty and deteriorating former factory, the building has been completely renovated, preserving its original character while bringing it into the 21st century. The iconic property is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a designated Chicago Landmark.

Visit “The Building” page to learn more about how we transformed an abandoned factory building into a first-of-its-kind sustainable development project, bringing green jobs into the local economy while preserving an iconic landmark property for future generations.

The property is anchored by Coyote Logistics, voted the #1 place to work in Chicago, and one of the coolest office spaces in Chicago. As America’s largest green business community, the campus houses over 20 businesses and 1,200 people.
